A man carries bags from Walmart over the mostly commercial Pharr-Reyonosa International Bridge from the United States into Mexico. Trade with Mexico is flourishing in this town despite the spike in drug-related violence south of the border. While the State Department issues travel warnings to nearby Mexican cities, the number of good-laden trucks that crosses into McAllen is growing, as is trade-related investment. Still, some are worried the flows could be disrupted if recent violent incidents, including blockades to major highways that connect Mexico's interior with the U.S. border, become the norm. that would have a deep impact on the economy of McAllen and other U.S. border towns...PHOTO/ Matt Nager
